About this event

This powerful exhibition features an untitled series of 51 'history robes' created by Haida artist Jut-ke-Nay–Hazel Wilson. The compositions document pivotal Haida histories, ranging from ancestral stories to the artist's own childhood experiences on Haida Gwaii. The work draws on the traditions of button blankets while innovating in the realms of history painting and folk art. This marks the first time nearly the entire body of work has been displayed together. It is curated by Jordan Wilson and located in the Audain Gallery.
